An Internet Site for

 Olmste(a)d Family History and Genealogy

May 2012

The Olmste(a)d Family Association is planning a reunion

for (date not set). We will post the information as it becomes available.

November 2010

Added a page: “Webmaster–Who We Are”

Our own story about our entry into genealogy

Update — August 2010

July 2010 reunion information has been deleted

It was a good time even though only 130 attended.

Update – November 2009

The development of this site has been an interesting challenge and there are now over 100 pages of information available for readers to explore.

Originally, we composed pages in FrontPage until this past May when

our webhost asked us to switch platforms to WordPress. That has

been a challenge and time consuming to learn new termonology and

techniques. We are trying out various page layout themes looking

for the one that best suits us. Pages available on the new platform

will appear in a list in a sidebar. Pages not yet moved appear on our

“old  site,” click this link to access the old Contents page where you

will find the links still work.

Opened on December 4, 2007

I’m just getting started on this so you will find my

plans, notes, and references to what I want to include.

Likewise, rather than wait for each page to be “letter perfect”

it is presented in the development stage.

Currently, almost everything is in simple text format as I am a more text based person than a graphics person. It takes time to put in all of the pictures and graphics to make it interesting.

Unless otherwise noted, I am the author of the contents of this website.

I welcome your ideas, suggestions, additions, and corrections.

Contact me directly at WaltSteesy @ aol.com.

Please include OLMSTEAD (or Olmsted) in the subject line

so that I will be sure to open it promptly.

Please go to the Contents page to explore the entire site.

Your are welcome to use or extract information from it to be included
