Olmsted Family, Inc.

The Olmsted Family, Inc. was created in 1911 to bring the family together and assist in the publishing of the years of work that George Olmsted had spent compiling the family tree.

I have some materials in my files that will be scanned and placed here.

This page needs lots of work and will include:

History — founding, activities, demise; publishing 1912 genealogy and the four supplements (1914, 1920, 1923, 1928)

Reunions were held and the records of some survive

1st — 1911 — Jan 11, Hartford, Connecticut — summary included as page 454 of the 1912 genealogy

2nd — 1912 — Jun 20, East Hartford, Connecticut — summary included as page 455 of the 1912 genealogy

3rd — 1913 — TBA posted in the 1st supplement to genealogy (p. 560)

Interesting to note that the 8th reunion was in 1926 according to the text in the 1928 (4th) supplement. Most likely a “typo”

8th — 1926 — Sept 24-25, Edgewater Beach Hotel, Chicago, IL; short report included as a page in the 4th supplement of the genealogy. (? was a booklet published or only the mention in the supplement — need to check my files)
